Natural salt transforms moss into a passive humidity regulator

For use of Icelandic mosses indoors, we salt the mosses with natural salt from the Dead Sea. The salt creates a negatively charged surface on the surface of the fine-branched microstructures of the moss. Humidity has a positive charge and is therefore attracted to the salty mosses. The salt reacts with the humidity. The reaction changes the state of the salt from solid to liquid. This makes the mosses feel soft and slightly moist. If the humidity drops, the salt in the mosses releases the moisture again.
This constant interaction between the salt and the humidity makes the moss a passive humidity regulator for the room air.
The larger the moss surface, the more volume there is for storing air. This process is reversible over many years. If the effect decreases, the salt content can be replenished with a special salt solution for Iceland mosses. The mosses should never be sprayed with water or exposed to rain, as this will wash out the salts.
Natural salt improves indoor air quality by reducing fine dust and aerosol pollution

The behavior of suspended particles such as fine dust and aerosols depends on the humidity. The higher the humidity, the better the suspended particles are bound by the humidity and the longer the particles float in the air. Due to the electrostatic charge difference between moss and humidity, the humidity also attracts the fine dust and aerosols to the salt in the moss. The moisture is bound by the salt and the suspended particles are thus neutralized. If the bound suspended particles on the surface of the moss become too large, they fall off. Since the size is in the micromillimeter range, there is virtually no visual impairment on the surface.
The dyeing of the Iceland moss is done with certified eco-dyes

During the dyeing process, only color pigments are used that are compatible with the German BfR IX standards, in accordance with the European Resolution AP (89) 1, EU Directive 94/62/EC and CONEG. The colors are approved for use in children's toys.

Our moss pictures have excellent acoustic properties

Moss pictures have an extraordinarily positive effect on the acoustics of a room. The microstructures of the moss absorb sound and thus reduce sound reflections, particularly in the frequency spectrum of speech. The felt carrier material also has a sound-absorbing effect. For rental moss mats, felt with a material thickness of 5mm is used as a carrier for the moss. Moss pictures and moss walls are therefore ideal for use as acoustic pictures or acoustic walls.
Our moss pictures are suitable for allergy sufferers

Iceland moss treated with natural salt and gently colored does not provide a growth environment for microbes or insects.
When interacting with the room air, colored Iceland moss has an extremely low microbiological emission as well as an extremely low emission of volatile organic compounds.
